Despite a fifteen-year break, Tommy, soon overcame the rustiness he felt was present on the first few stages to settle in nicely posting a string of second fastest class stage times. Tommy became something of a novelty during Saturday as Clare FM spent the afternoon trying to contact him on his mobile for a live interview. This finally took place just as he was about to set off on the second last stage of the day. Tommy was delighted for his sponsors to get the airtime if a little surprised by the attention. “It is great that Clare FM wanted to talk to me as a result of my results on the Clare Stages in the past, I am delighted to get back rallying again. Maybe we will do the Clare Stages this year also if everything falls into place…”
