The CarSport Rally Sprint, held at the Belfast Sportscar Show is really hotting up. The Sportscar Show runs from 30th Jan - 1st Feb 2004, at the Kings Hall & Showground, Belfast. 2wd'd will compete for a handful of places for the Sunday, to run against twenty WRC & GPA cars on Sunday 1st Feb.

Applications for the 2wd rally spint on the Saturday is way over subscribed now, the organisers say they could've run the Saturday five times over, such has been the interest.

As for the Sunday and the WRC cars, Eugene Donnelly is hoping to come back and defend his title in his new Toyota Corolla WRC car which he will be using in the Irish Tarmac Championship. David Greer is expected to confirm and, car being available, we hope to welcome Derek McGarrity to the next one.

The latest news is that Trevor Moore, who came a very close second in the inaugural CarSport Sprint Rally, will, if he has a car avialable, come out of retirement to try and better his creditable second place last time out.

The Rally runs through part of the Showground, along the front of the grandstand with great views of almost all the circuit. The rally is an integral part of the Belfast Sportscar Show, which inlcudes contemporary cars, classic cars, modified & performance cars & products, motorsport, the Ulster Kart Show and various general trade stands.

A week-end pass for the Show is just £18 and can be ordered in advance by calling the ticket hotline on 0870 730 0049. Day tickets are £12 or £10 in advance for adults.
