Portadown driver, Brendan Crealey and his Sheffield based co-driver Steve Harris have secured the biggest prize in British Rallying, the 2003 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge Championship.

The rally was run over five special stages and Brendan was able to pace himself to finish second on the day. Only needing to finish in the top seven, second place was enough to clinch the championship title.

Brendan and Steve can now look forward to next season. The prize for winning this year’s title is a fully supported works drive in the 2004 Kumho National Rally Championship in a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 backed by Mitsubishi Motors UK. The Car will be a lightweight version of the current model and will be prepared by the Mitsubishi World Rally team in Rugby. The car will be built to the very latest Group N regulations and will run in the eight round championship which spans England, Wales, Scotland and the Isle of Man in 2004.

After finishing the rally Brendan said:
“I am so relieved to have the title wrapped up. On the Park Systems Rally we had to go at a steady pace just to finish and were delighted to see the finish of the last stage.

“I just can’t wait for next season to begin now and look forward to working with Mitsubishi to get the best possible results we can.
