Posted: April 13, 2003 7:24 PM Agip, famed for their association with the Ferrari F1 team, will support the twenty-five year old driver from Ballinamallard, who is undoubtedly one of Irelands most exciting rally prospects, beginning at this weekends Buy & Sell Circuit of Ireland Rally. “We are entering the Irish market in spectacular fashion through this association with Garry and the Fisher Engineering car. After the Enniskillen based Easter event, where Garry will be on home ground, our programme takes in the Killarney Rally of the Lakes (3-4 May), the Donegal International Rally (20-22 June), and the Cork 20 International Rally (4-5 October). The current Peugeot 206 Super Cup Rally Champion, who is driving a works prepared Peugeot 206 S1600 in this years British Rally Championship, will also appear at the Punchestown World Rally Experience event (20 July), and the popular Lurgan Park Rally (23 August) in the Agip Lubricants Fisher Engineering Rally Team 106 Maxi”, said Patrick Phelan of Maxol Lubricants, sole distributers of Agip Lubricants in Ireland. “We are delighted to welcome Agip on board as joint main sponsors. Fisher Engineering have been supporting Garry our `home town star` throughout his short and spectacular rallying career, and having Agip on board will add extra profile to the team and enable Garry to get invaluable tarmac experience in tandem with his British Championship challenge”, said Ivan Fisher brother of the late Bertie Fisher who was four times Irish Tarmac Rally Champion. We can expect some `David and Goliath` performances from the Agip/Fisher 106 Maxi as it takes on the World Rally and Group N cars. The little buzz bomb has already scored a third place overall in Carrick-on-Suir and won its class on each of its outings to date this year. Garry Jennings and Gordon Noble are seeded at number 19 in the quality Buy & Sell Circuit of Ireland entry of 116 cars.
