Once again Tipperaryman, Richard Percy took the top award in the second round of the Killarney and District Motor Club / Darby o’ Gills Autocross Championship, which was also a round of The Jerry Murphy Tyres Munster Championship.

Percy in his Ford-engined Special had a comfortable lead of seven seconds ahead of second placed man Joe Shinnors in an Escort. Shinnors was followed very closely by Ger Brennan in a Chevy-engined Special and Jimmy Devane in a Nissan. Gerard Lucey in a Toyota-engined Special set some blistering lap times, but failed to complete a full timed run due to mechanical problems. Class winners were Paddy o’ Connor, Jimmy Devane, John Cullnane, Michael o’ Connor, Joe Shinnors and Ger Brennan.
