Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship is go for 2013!

The calendar may still say 2012 but we are already just seven weeks away from the opening round of the 2013 Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship, so why not give yourself an early New Year resolution and sign up for the series now as FREE registration has just opened.

Once again the series is lucky to be receiving the support of Eurocars, who will be moving into their seventh year as title sponsors of the series. With dealerships including Citroen, Peugeot and Renault to name a few the company is one of the biggest on the island and as part of their support provide invaluable premises for scrutiny and documentation for the series events.

Last year saw Nigel Cannell in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 successfully defend his drivers title and become a three time champion despite missing the opening round, while his co-driver for the final round of the series Graham Fargher took his first co-drivers title. Cannell is sure to be back and who would bet against him making it three in a row!

Having been fought over six rounds in 2012, the new 2013 MRC will become a seven round affair with the DUKE Stages in September becoming a double point scoring opportunity, the event effectively being split into two halves. The series runs from February to November and four of the six events will be run over two or more days including night stages making the championship a true challenge.

Getting underway in February with the Manx Auto Sport organised Mann Construction sponsored Chris Kelly Memorial Rally, for which entries have already opened, it’s then onto the Manx National Rally in May which was added as a round in 2012 before the series ventures off closed roads for the Druidale Motor Club Jurby Stages at the Jurby Motordrome.

July see’s crews move between the trees with the Dave Corris Autos Forest Stages, retaining it’s place in the calendar following a successful return in 2012. The longest event in the championship takes place in September as the DUKE Stages again forms part of Rally Isle of Man which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. The three day, 180mile event as previously mentioned will form two rounds of the series, providing an opportunity to restart midway through the event for anyone suffering issues in the first half.

The final round will once again become the two-day Pokerstars Asphalt Stages, returning to it’s November date following a re-shuffle.

The Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship is open to all entrants to events, both on and off-island based, and once again, registration is free! ...there really is no reason not to be involved!

Registration, which closes at documentation for the DUKE Stages, can be completed online at
