Martin McCormack and Liam Moynihan were recently announced as the second winners of the 'Shekhar Mehta Spirit of Rallying' award in recognition of their performance in the 2007 Dunlop/Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship.

The young Irish crew collected the prestigious award during the annual HRCR awards evening at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon on Saturday (16 February).

Meanwhile, Neil Calvert was awarded the Charles Golding Award as the leading finisher in the final 2007 BHRC standings in a self-prepared car. Calvert and co-driver Arlene Cookson received the award from Golding's daughter Charlotte and his long-time co-driver Preston Ayres.

The HRCR 'Clubmen of the Year Award' also went to a crew from the BHRC as husband and wife crew Phil and Barbara Smith were announced as 2007 winners.
