Disappointment For Peugeot Champion on Wales Rally GB

2003 British Peugeot 206 Champion, Shaun Gallagher, suffered bitter disappointment on the final round of the World Rally Championship, the Wales Rally GB when retired on stage two of the event.

Shaun had completed an excellent recce for the rally and was confident following a very successful test.

The rally began with a two mile Super Special Stage on Thursday night with re-start the next morning at 5:30am. However bad luck struck on the opening stage of Friday morning when the Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Award Winner suffered electrical problems and retired.

The Rally GB was the Vodka Kick sponsored drivers prize for winning the 2003 British Peugeot 206 Cup and he commented “I am of course disappointed but I have been lucky over the past year and the cars has given me no trouble, bad luck had to strike at some point”
