Rally of Wales Cancelled / 206 Cup Round moves to Border Rally

The opening round of the 2003 Pirelli British Rally Championship, the International Rally of Wales, has been forced to cancel after not receiving enough entries to make the event financially viable.

As of 6th March 2003, only 25 entries have been received for the International Rally of Wales due to take place over the weekend of 21st-23rd March. After making extensive enquiries, there would appear to be no more than seven other potential entries wishing to take part in the event. The organising committee have considered a reduced mileage event but this would still leave a considerable shortfall in the budget.

The Peugeot 206 Super Cup have agreed entries in the Border Counties Rally to be run on the same day but based in Jedburgh using Keilder Forest.
