Munster Summer Autotest Weekend - 13-14 Jul 02

Autotesting, which is the ideal starter-level motor especially for Tarmac Rallying, has one of it’s major week-ends in Munster on Saturday and Sunday next with National championship regulars travelling to take a summer holiday to compete with the Munster Championship regulars. Event entries of over forty competitors can be expected and autotesting is to be recommended to those wishing to get actively involved in motorsport or who cannot regularly obtain rally entries.

Cork Motor Club do the honours on Saturday evening from 6.00 PM in the centre of Kanturk at the Mart where the gravel surface and tight confines sort out the brave or foolhardy from the rest. Entries are with the club’s Johnathan Waterman on 021-4883458. Noon on Sunday sees Killarney & District Motor Club clerk-of-the-course Donie Lucey introduce a new venue at Firebird Boilers factory in Ballymakeera, Co. Cork to add variety to the week-end.

Anyone interested in motorsport at it’s best is welcome to come along to either event.
